Sheremetyevo International Airport is an international airport situated to the north of Moscow.
This is the 2nd largest airport in Moscow and has handled passenger traffic of more than 14 million passengers in 2007. This public airport is run and operated by the International Airport Sheremetyevo and was opened in 1959.
The various airlines operating from this airport include Air France, Delta, and Lufthansa, KLM, British Airways, Finnair and more.
The facilities provided by the airport include 2 terminals, banking facilities, post offices, pharmacy, first aid, salon, Moscow duty free shops, business center with fax and conference rooms and disabled facilities.
There are renovations being made to include a number of other facilities as well. The places of tourist attractions near the airport are Lenin’s Tomb, The Armory Palace and Pushkin Museum of Fine Arts.
There are rental cars, buses, taxis and coaches available outside the terminal building to provide transportation for tourists from the airport
