The Hermitage Museum located in Saint Petersburg, Russia, is known for its art and culture. It was the largest and old museum in the world opened in 1764 by Catherine the Great. It was open to the public in 1852.It is known for its worlds largest collection of paintings. Today this building encompasses many buildings on the Palace Embankment and its neighborhoods. The Collection of Classical Antiquities occupies most of the ground floor. The collection of Classical Antiquities feature Greek artifacts from the 3rd millennium – 5th century BC. It is beautifully carved and designed and one of the place to be visited in Russia.
