The Nevsky Prospekt is the main avenue and also one of the best known streets in St. Petersburg in Russia. It cuts through the historical center of the city. This street widens as one travels along its length towards the river and is lined by some of the most impressive buildings of St. Peterburg. At present, this street functions as the significant thoroughfare in the city and has majority of nightlife and shopping as well as some of the most expensive apartments.
