Kotor is popular with visitors for its picturesque landscape as well as the historic old town which has been included on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The San Giovanni fortifications which encircled the old town are ideal for a bird’s eye view of the region.
The Cathedral of Saint Tryphon is one of the oldest churches in Europe and renowned for its rich collection of artefacts and ornate interiors. Two medieval churches, Church of St Luke and Church of St Ozana, make for interesting visits because of their unique architectural styles.
The Summer Carnival in the first week of August attracts thousands of visitors to this small coastal town; the event is a week-long street party with concerts, exhibitions and boat races
