The original medieval-time Monastery of Crnojevic has almost been destroyed but the chapel was rebuilt and houses some interesting relics. Some parts of the ruins were moved to the newer Monastery of Cetinje. It also houses a small chapel known for its Greek-style altar screens and the graves of the former dukes. The Museum of the Cetinje Monastery has on display the treasures of the monastery collected over centuries.
The Billiard House, which served as the royal residence after the Middle Ages, has the appearance of a medieval castle and houses the Njegos Museum which displays his book, art collection and other personal items. The National Museum of Montenegro is a part of the luxurious Prince Nikola’s Palace.
The medieval town of Zabljak is located just outside the city; some parts of the fortifications have been restored and are protected and reflect the different architectural styles set by the change of rulers.
