Kragujevac is the fourth biggest city of Serbia and is located on the coasts of the Lepenica River. It is the major city and administrative centre of the Sumadija province. The city is blessed with a full-fledged university built in 1838, one grammar school at Gimnazija, a military academy and a professional national theatre. Kragujevac is famous for its collection of most modern weapons and ammunitions. The city owns the Zastava car factory, which produces the popular cars Yugo, Zastava 10, Florida and more. The name Kragujevac was the derivative of the Serbian word Kraguj, meaning the place of the Kragujs. In antique times the term was used to describe a species of bird like hunting hawk. The city is named as Krakow in the old maps. The city had undergone a number of historic turmoil and events over the years. Unlike political influence, Kragujevac exhibits an interesting tradition, systematic education and well-mannered culture.
