Bratislava Castle is situated on a hill which overlooks the river Danube and it is 150-meters above sea-level. It is open for the public on Tuesdays to Sundays from 09:00 to 17:00 hrs and closed on Mondays.
The castle houses collections from Slovak National Museum, which is an important part of the castle-complex. It aims to acquire process, preserve and use the museums collection which documents the Slovakian society’s development from the middle-ages to the present.
Apart from the archeological exhibition, there are numerous interesting exhibitions of clocks, furniture, glass, ceramics, arts and history. Some of the notable permanent exhibitions are Silver Treasure and works of Old Masters.
Another significant exhibition in the castle is the Music Museum. It documents and demonstrates the development of music-culture of Slovakia from the oldest-times up till the present.
Permanent expositions of the museum include Dolna Krupa Manor House and Luwig van Beethoven Memorial
