Take local currency with you as the Euro is not in use here. Though credit cards are widely accepted, it is always safer to carry some cash.
If visiting in winter time, carry ample winter clothing, as winter in Bratislava can be quite harsh. Winter months can be very cold and require gloves, scarves and hats as temperatures can be extreme.
Good quality shoes and socks, which keep you warm, are a must at this time too. Cosmetics and creams that protect your skin from extreme cold should also be used.
Pick up a free copy of the map of Bratislava from the tourist information centre. It comes in very handy for locating popular tourist destinations.
Toilet paper is not of very good quality in most hotels so many tourists bring their own.
