Kostanjevica Hill lies at the border between Italy and Slovenia, and rises to about 143m. This is the home of “The Annunciation of Our Lady” Church and Franciscan Monastery of the 17th century. The final members of the French Royal family, Bourbons were buried in a tomb in this church. The last prince, Charles X fled to the town from France after the revolution and was finally cremated in Nova Gorica.
