Tourist Guide Portoroz
Portoroz can be described in a literal manner as ‘Port of Roses’. It’s one of the coastal towns located in Slovenia. Moreover, it’s amongst the biggest tourist areas of Slovenia.
Portoroz happens to belong to ‘coastal municipality’ of ‘Piran’. It is situated on the south-western side of ‘Gulf of Trieste’; between borders of Croatia on the southern side and Italy on the northern side.
Portoroz is home to casino, marina, and loads of ‘sporting facilities’. Portoroz International Airport is also found in hamlet called ‘Secovlje’; nearby.
Portoroz had hosted International Physics Olympiad in the year 1985. It had also witnessed ‘European Debating Championships’ in the year 2001.
New ‘Euro-Mediterranean University’ was inaugurated in the year 2008 on 9th of June; that too, following collaboration with universities pertaining to Middle-east and EU. It is to operate fully from the 1st academic year in the year 2009.
