The very-1st maritime collections had been exhibited in ‘Town Museum’; that had been established in 1954. It was renamed as ‘Sergej Masera’ Maritime Museum in the year 1967. Immediately after its foundation, research in to Slovenian ‘naval history’ and maritime past started. This museum happens to collect, study, and present maritime past with regards to economic branches pertaining to sea and coastal region’s maritime past.
