Our Lady of Grace Cathedral
The construction of this cathedral went on from the year 1182 to the year 1270. Reconstruction took place after its crumbling in the year 1902. Our Lady of Grace Cathedral is the 1st one of gothic style. This can be attributed to influence of Leonor Plantagenet, wife of Alfonso VIII (from Aquitaine), who went on to introduce Anglo-Norman style. Certain changes have taken place in the cathedral since then. The fifteenth century witnessed addition of doble girola; whereas the sixteenth century witnessed erection of Renaissance Esteban Jamete’s Arch. Main altar got redesigned in the eighteenth century. Contemporary colored windows got installed in 1990s. Before that, façade got reconstructed (as mentioned above). The year 2006 marked recovery of ancient baroque organ (from Julian de la Orden).
Saint Peter Church
Loads of weddings get celebrated over here. With the arrival of Romanic culture, this church got reconstructed by ‘Jose Martin de la Aldehuela in the eighteenth century. Since then, it features ‘baroque façade’.
