The Plaza Del Charco, which is the town centre, is a major meeting point and houses several historic monuments such as Casa de la Real Aduana, Casa Miranda and Castillo San Felipe. The spectacular Nuestra Senora de la Pena de Francia, which is the region’s main church, is a must-visit.
The city is also home to a number of beaches like Playa Jardin, Playa Martianez and Playa de las Teresitas. Lago de Martianez houses eight swimming pools that are filled with sea water.
Garachico village is another popular location that offers a breathtaking view of the sea. The Carnival, the most important event of Puerto de la Cruz, is celebrated throughout the region in February and March, with dance, music and processions.
