Tourist Guide Rosas
Rosas can be described as a municipality located in comarca of ‘Alt Emporda’, Catalonia, Spain.
Rosas lies along the coast, towards northern end with respect to Gulf of Roses. Moreover, it’s a significant tourist center and fishing port. C-260 Road happens to link Rosas with Figueres.
Origin of the town ‘Rosas’ is disputed. One of the most popular theories holds that it had been founded by Greeks who belonged to Rhodes. The other theory says that it had been founded in fifth century BC by ‘Greeks’ belonging to Massalia.
In the year 1879, Rosas went on to suffer devastating economic crisis; thanks to phylloxera, i.e. pest of grapevines that caused destruction of wine-growing industry of the town.
Population as per census conducted in the year 2007 was 18139.
