Reviews San Sebastián

Level 100
Overall rating: 6
Not to miss:  Owing to its more than a 100-year-old tryst with royalty, San Sebastián is an extremely tasteful beach resort with none of the trimmings and gaudiness that are so common among resorts these days. The city has three wonderful beaches out of which La Concha beach is considered to be the most beautiful in Europe.
The Paseo de Muelle is an excellent area for shopping; here you can pick up textiles woven in the typical Basque fashion. The narrow streets of the Parte Vieja are packed with many bars and restaurants that truly come alive at night. Visitors can also indulge ... More in some fishing or yachting at the harbour. The Naval Museum and the Aquarium are also major attractions.
There are many monuments to explore in the city, such as the nineteenth century Cathedral, the Castillo de la Santa Cruz de la Mota and the Basilica of Santa Maria del Coro.
San Sebastián holds many fiestas and celebrations all year round. The Carnival is held in the month of February.

General opinion:  The city of San Sebastián, officially known as Donostia-San Sebastián, is the capital city of the province of Guipuscoa in Spain. It is located in the Basque Country on the southern coast of the Bay of Biscay.
This resort city is beautifully enveloped by green mountains on one side and the picturesque beaches along the Bay of Biscay on the other. San Sebastián has a pleasant and mild climate throughout the year. The average temperature in the summer months is 21°C, and in winters, it drops to about 9°C. Frequent rain showers are experienced in autumn and ... More spring.
San Sebastián has a population of approximately 180,000 people. The official languages are Euskadi and Castilian Spanish. It is also the summer capital of the Spanish royal family, and the culture is a fine example of the unique traditions of its Basque populace.
