One of the largest, late-medieval gardens of Europe, the Jardines Reales Alcazares in Seville is a true treasure, with more than a thousand years of history behind it. It’s a great place to visit and rewind after having visited Seville’s important attractions and museums.
Originally a Moorish fort, the Alcazar of Seville royal palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is famous for being the birthplace of Indanta Maria Antonietta of Spain, the daughter of Philip V or Spain and Elisabeth Farneses. At the time of her birth, the king was in the city to oversee the signing of the Treaty of Seville in 1729, which then ended the Ango-Spanish War.
The garden is open daily from 9:30am and is situated at the Plaza del Truinfo in Seville. Ticket prices are 8.50 EUR for adults and 2 EUR for seniors. Students between the ages of 17 and 25 also pay 2 EUR ticket prices, with proper school identification. Children under the age of 16 are free. The garden is open year round, closing its grounds only on New Year’s Day, January 6th, Holy Friday and Christmas Day. For more information, contact +34954 50 20 68.
