Can Picafort is a gateway to relax for one and all. The local is situated in the center of the Bay of Alcudia. The beaches span the length of the resort which covers a distance of 2 KM. the main tourist center is located in the form of narrow streets behind the beaches. Adjacent to the beach is a pedestrian promenade which is lined with various restaurants and cafes servicing some of the finest delicacies.
The city of Puerto Alcuida is situated at a distance on 9 km and consists of a beautiful and traditional old town as well as a water park and a port. The town is very small in terms of population which is 10,000 residents which includes e whole of Santa Margalida municipality.
Mostly climate is warm and it enjoys Mediterranean type of climate. The summers are usually hot and winters are mild. The literal translation of the name is “itching strongly” but the original meaning of the place is “the house of Picafort”. Till 1960s the place was a sleepy fishing village.
