Isotel Club Maryland
On the South coast of Maryland one comes across a comprehensive holiday development of Maryland, where one can find all amenities for holidaymakers. The name “Maryland” is a combination of the Spanish world “mar y” which means “sea and” and the English word “land.” It is not related in any way with the American state Maryland.
San Francisco Javier
The main place in Formentera is San Francisco Javier which is also the administrative center. A plain parish church constructed in 1738 is located in the central square. In the southern region of the town one can view an ancient fig tree that is regarded as the oldest in Balearics.
San Fernando / Sant Fernan
In the recent past, a stalactitic cave was discovered at San Fernando and this is now open to visitors. This place is situated towards the east of San Francisco Javier.
Stinking Pool
The Stinking Pool is locally called as Estany Pudent or Estanque Pudent. It is located towards the east of La Sabina. This pool is a saline lagoon that is separated from the sea by dunes having a length of 5 Kms. A narrow channel connects this lagoon and the sea. There is a beautiful sandy beach in the lagoon and extensive salt pans exist at its north end.
La Sabina
The singular harbor on the island of Formentera is called as La Sabina. Here, one cannot find anything special except bars, car hire firms and harbor buildings.
