Ibiza Airport serves the Balearic Islands of Ibiza along with Formentera in Spain. This airport is located precisely seven kilometers to the southwest of Ibiza Town. During its peak season, from May to October, the airport handles over 85%25 of the total volume of passengers. Other than that, this airport offers year round scheduled mainland and inter-island traffic, with flights that operate to primary business hubs like Madrid, Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca. During the Spanish Civil War, the airport was established as a temporary military airport and opened till the conflict for its usage as an emergency airport. In 1958, it reopened for the public.
