Minorca is an island located in Spain in the Mediterranean Sea. Minorca, a part of the Balearic Islands, is divided into two parts, north and south. This beautiful island has a total population of around 82,000 inhabitants.
The island has an ideal Mediterranean climate, characterised by warm temperatures. The island is permanently cooled by the north wind. The best time to visit Minorca is from May to October.
During the War of Spanish Succession, Minorca came under the British rule. During this period, Mao was termed as the capital and a naval base was established. The island was finally given back to Spain in 1802 under the Treaty of Amiens.
