Tourist Guide Sant Antoni de Portmany
Sant Antoni de Portmany can be described as a town located along Ibiza’s western coast.
Sant Antoni de Portmany was known by the name ‘San Antonio Abad’ in ‘Spanish’ till the year 1986. Thereafter, official name, i.e. the one mentioned above got restored. Majority of English-speaking people, however, still call it ‘San Antonio’.
Sant Antoni de Portmany is the 2nd biggest town as well as municipality within Ibiza; which is looked upon by clubbers as clubbing capital with respect to the world.
For around 2000 years, Sant Antoni de Portmany was functioning as a petite ‘fishing village’. However, it started growing in late 1950s. This was the time when several tourist resorts and hotels were constructed as a portion of ‘mass tourism initiative’.
‘The Egg’ is the finest known landmark all over Sant Antoni. It stands at center of ‘main roundabout’ towards entrance to this town.
