Iturriza Casilda Parkea or Doña Casilda Iturrizar Park is main Public Park in Bilbao, Basque Country. Named after the Casilda Iturrizar, who had donated the terrains, the park is an English style garden created over 100 years ago. This park is known as the most significant park space in Bilbao.
Created in 1907, the area of this park is spread in 8.52 hectares. The design of this park was in Romantic style, designed by architect Ricardo Bastida and Juan de Eguiraun, the engineer. The park has been renewed and even embellished many times till date, preserving the wonderful pond charm full of ducks. The renovation initiated got this park a merry-go-round, a dancing water fountain, two basketball pitches, a stage for live performances and even the museum café.
Within this park, one can get to see a duck pond with many waterfowl species and the park is nicknamed as Parque de los Patos or Duck’s Park by the locals, due to this pond.
