Overview to visit Bilbao at its best
Bilbao has many attractions for the many visitors who come to experience its delights every year. In summers, open air concerts are held at the Kiosko del Arenal El Arenal Parque. Going for a leisurely stroll along the banks of the river Nervión and the streets of the Casco Viejo allows visitors to soak in the sights and sounds of this wonderful city. There are many opportunities for shopping at the Mercado de la Rivera, one of the largest covered markets in Europe.
Bilbao is also home to the spectacular Guggenheim Museum and the Fine Arts Museum. These wonderful museums provide visitors with a fascinating glimpse of the history, culture and arts of this region. The Maritime Museum is another major tourist attraction.
The Basílica de Begoña is one of the most symbolic religious buildings in Bilbao and was built in the sixteenth century. The Teatro Arriaga is a magnificent theatre hall that has been painstakingly restored and should not be missed.
