El Hierro is located off the coast of Africa in the Atlantic Ocean. It is a Spanish Island towards the south west of Canary Islands. From West to East it measures 17 miles, while from South to North it is 15 miles. The total area is 107 square miles. The region of El Hierro is sharply mountainous.
