The most popular beach here is the Las Canteras, which is also one of the best beaches in Spain. The beach houses the popular Auditorio Alfredo Kraus. Vegueta, which is the oldest part of the city houses ancient structures like the Santa Ana Cathedral, Columbus Museum, Casa Colon and Bishop’s Palace. For nature enthusiasts, the Santa Catalina Park, popularly known as ‘Parque de Santa Catalina’, is a must visit.
The city also hosts a number of fiestas and events. Some of the most popular events are Fiestas de San Juan and Carnival of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
