One of the oldest tourist towns in Spain is the town of Maspalomas. It is located on the south coast of Gran Canaria in Canary Islands. The atmosphere of the town is very vibrant, warm and friendly. The town forms the part of the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana. The name of the town comes from Rodrigo Mas de Palomar, a soldier from Majorca who settled here and from.
