Near to the Cathedral Vieja, there is an oasis of lush vegetation and also tranquility and this is the place which inspired Fernando de Rojas to write a novel La Calestina. All sorts of trees and plants grow over here, like olive trees, acacias, almonds and even cypress trees. There are two wells from where the water is fetched to water the sweet smelling herbs and flower plants. Some of the herbs are rosemary, mint and bay leaves. It is worth visiting the garden and view the two cathedrals and Torre del Gallo tower nearby.
