The Aqueduct
This splendid Roman Structure would take the visitors as back as the 1st century. It used to carry water to one of the encampments located in town once upon a time. A close look at the city would allow tourists to spot a 700-meter section consisting of 163 arches; made up of ‘granite stone’ which reaches at an elevation of 29 meters in certain points. This glorious work suffered a lot of harm since the last 50 years, particularly from poisonous gases emitted by vehicles passing from underneath the arches. However, archways have come up off late.
The Alcazar Fortress
This defensive fortress was constructed in the sixth century. It, however, gained more prestige after having become one of the royal residences (of Felipe II). The rooms worth visiting include office of Felipe II, Chimney Room, and, ‘Throne Room having Arab decoration’.
