Barcelona's beaches offer a great variety of attractions and entertainment as well as more quiet areas where you can unwind. It's so nice to have both sides of the story!
If you're into a crazy, bustling and very lively atmosphere head for famous Barceloneta beach, there are also delicious sea food eateries along the shore... Then attracting very young crowds is the cool Nova Icaria beach, beside the Olympic marine, it's also close to Icaria's shopping center if you fancy a stroll along the shops. Then, close by, a cinema showing films in English.
Or if you're looking for a more quieter area there's lovely Caldetes awaiting you, a no-frills beach - just relaxing, sunbathing, swimming and unwinding...it's a short ride from the city centre north. Still north of Barcelona there's Ocata ,a quiet place, not so crowded. You can sunbathe on the beautiful golden sand while being drenched in Spanish sun! It's only an half hour train journey from the city, and another not-to-miss place is the gorgeous St Pol de Mar beach, with it's shore lapped by clear waters, and backed by pretty hills,it's just an hour trip by train from Barcelona and definetely worth it!
