Barcelona is known for its comprehensive local public transportation network that comprises of a bus network, tram networks, aerial cable cars and a metro.

The Metro of Barcelona is the easiest way of travelling and consists of 9 lines that are basically identified by the symbol ‘L’, followed by the line number and individual colours.

The trains run on these lines at regular intervals of seven minutes.

The Transports Metropolitans de Barcelona (TMB) operates most of the network; however 3 lines are of FGC commuter services.

They operate in the city. TMB also operates the tram networks, Trambesòs and Trambaix, bus network and tourist bus service.

The night buses are operated by Mohn. Transports Ciutat Comtal.

The single trip tickets can be expensive; however cheaper tickets are also available if the visitors intend to travel a lot.

Tickets are available at FGC stations, lottery shops, and Metro or newspaper kiosks.
