Hospital de Sant Pau is situated in Guinardo in Barcelona. This historic building is a complex which was built between 1901 and 1930 and was exclusively designed by Lluis Domenech I Montaner, the Catalan Modernisme architect. This site is also declared as a UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) World Heritage Site. At present, this building is a fully functional hospital and there are discussions of converting this site into a museum in the near future. Even if the hospital’s present building dates back to the 20th century, it was founded in 1401 due to a merge between six small medieval hospitals.
