Created in 1984 by painter Antoni Tapies, the Tapies foundation is one of the popular museums of the city. It was established with a purpose of promoting modern art and culture.
One can witness creations from all the phases of Antoni Tapies‘s artistic development. A beautiful library situated here is devoted to modern literature. It also documents on the art as well as artists of the century.
The museum is located in a building designed by the Architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner.
