The city of Girona is home to a number of monuments and structures of historical significance. Girona houses the Cathedral, which is an excellent combination of Roman, Catalan and Gothic architecture.
The Cathedral is home to several important artworks, many of which are displayed in its museum. The city is also home to a number of ancient Arab baths like the Caldarium and Frigidarium. Esglesia de Sant Faliu, a fourteenth century church built over the tomb of Feliu of Africa, is another important Girona structure.
The city is also home to a number of museums like Museu Arqueologic, which speaks of the history of the city. While vacationing in Girona, be sure to visit Museu d’Art, which houses numerous renowned artworks like the altarpiece of Sant Pere of Pubol and the altarpiece of Sant Miguel de Cruilles.
Fires de Sant Narcis and Temps de Flors are some of the main festivals in Girona, celebrated with processions, parties and music.
