Villa Vella is the most attractive portion of this historic town and its ancient defence walls and towers are still in very good condition. This old quarter was once a fortified village with steep cobbled streets winding through the town lined with whitewashed houses and ochre stone. It also has historic towers dominating the skyline from the headland.
