Museo Nacional de Arte Romano, or National Museum of Roman Art replaced the ancient Merida Archaeological Museum that had been created on 26th of March, 1838 by ‘Royal Order’. On 19th of September, 1986, the existing museum opened up. It had been designed by none other than Rafael Moneo valles, i.e. key exponent with respect to Hispania’s Romanization.Workshops, conferences, exhibitions, and several other activities of national as well as international caliber are held over here at regular intervals.
