Granada can be hot in the high season, Spring and Fall are both excellent times to visit.
The “Alhambra” is one of the most relics in Spain, is a UNESCO national heritage site. It is a beautiful Moorish citadel, divided into four main areas: the “Palaces” , the “Alcazaba” (the military zone), the “Medina” (the city) and the beautiful garden of the “Generalife” . Don’t forget to stroll the streets of the “Albaicin” , the old Arabic quarter.
This site was a palace, a fortress and the home of the “Nasrid sultans”; other buildings belonging to a different period are the “Palace of Charles V” in Renaissance style, which houses the “Alhambra Museum” and the “Fine Art Museum” .
In Granada you can also visit the “Parque de la Ciencias” , the “House Museum Federico Garcia Lorca”, the Granada Cathedral built in 15th century, and the “Museo de Bellas Artes” .
The local cuisine is influenced by the “Moroccan kitchen” . Granada is notable as most of its millions of bars will serve free “tapas” with each drink.
The climate in Granada is Mediterranean with cold Winter and rainfalls and hot and humid Summer.
