The Atocha Railway Station is considered as the largest railway station in Madrid. It is the primary station which serves the commuter trains, intercity as well as the regional trains from the south and the AVE high speed trains from Barcelona and Seville. The station is in the Atocha neighborhood of Arganzuela district. The Atocha station is also a railway complex. The Atocha railway station is one of the two Madrid Metro Stations and is the oldest. There is also a memorial, named Atocha Station memorial, which is dedicated for the victims of the 2004 attack. The monument here includes a virtual shrine.
