Madrid Barajas International Airport is the main international airport in Spain which started in 1928 and has derived its name from the adjacent town of Barajas where it is located.

The airport is run and operated by Aena and is the primary hub for Iberia, the Spanish Airlines.

The airport ranks as the 4th busiest airport in Europe and the 10th busiest in the world handling more than 52 million passengers.

The airport has 4 terminals and a satellite terminal. The main terminal and the satellite terminal have shopping areas, banks, restaurants, health amenities and more.

The various flights operating from the airport include Air Canada, Air Mauritius, and Delta Airlines, easyJet, Emirates, Lufthansa, Qatar Airways, Air France, British Airways, EgyptAir and more.

There are 3 terminals which are linked to the Madrid underground train and are not as crowded.

The Madrid Airport provides parking for more than ten thousand vehicles on site.

The most convenient and easiest way to go from the airport to the city is via metro.

There are bus terminals as well so one has to check which terminal your flight operates from.
