365 days of sunshine and mild temperatures, with many beaches all around - it sounds like the definition of heaven.
Tenerife has some splendid man-made beaches, created from fine black shingle or sand.
The beaches in Tenerife are easily accessible and meet the stringent European standards of cleanliness. Most beaches offer sun beds, umbrellas, shower facilities and ample water-sports.
Los Cristianos is one of the famous beach destinations. Once a fishing village, the place has been transformed into one of the top holiday destinations with a 400 meter long and 100 meter wide beach, which makes it the safest beach for children.
El Medano is the surfing haven as it is a windy beach near the airport. Sometimes non suitable for normal bathers, but, it is a favourite spot for international windsurfing competitions.
