Nightlife and entertainment: You'll find the famous nightlife in Valencia: the clubs and bars are concentrated in the historic center and the harbor. It's easy to get around on public transport. The city is cheap, you get good hotels at reasonable prices, you can eat and drink well on a budget, the best time is June. Stay in the center or at the port.

Useful tips: Don't miss the Oceanografico. The aquarium is truly spectacular, you'll stand there open-mouthed. I don't recommend it if you're only there for one day because it takes about three hours to get around and that would leave you little time to visit the rest of the city. Valencia is lovely, though.

Best Period to Go: The best time to visit Valencia is the spring. It allows you to combine culture and art with trips to the beach. You can make the most of everything that this city of a thousand faces has to offer. The attractions are varied and are interesting to any type of traveller. It's a city worth visiting!

Getting Around: It's well-served by public transport, taxis and the metro. If you want, there are also bikes for rent that you can take and drop off at various points in the city. We decided to get around on foot, partly because Valencia has several parks that surround the city.

Eating and Drinking: When I went to Valencia I ate in different places, traditional cafes and restaurants, and I have to say that in addition to always eating well, I always paid very little, even when I ordered the full menu, even in the centre! I highly recommend it!

Getting Around: I used public transport to get around. It's very frequent, efficient and clean. The nice thing is that it goes all over the city. If I went back to Valencia I would definitely take it again! You buy your ticket when you get on the bus, but the queues still aren't long.

Packing List: It's just a wonderful city to experience the real Spain in a few days! It's young and welcoming and has attractions for all tastes, it's easy to get around to all the sights and there's plenty of good food to try. For the best de Marisco paella and sangria I recommend "casa de Roberto" and, for something faster, the delicious tapas at "Taverna de la reina".

Best Period to Go: It's definitely good in spring and early autumn (September-October). The temperature is ideal, in the summer it's very hot, but you can still manage it! There are good links with the main Italian airports; Valencia Airport is easily accessible by metro.

The accessibility: When I travel I pay a lot of attention to the accessibility of large cities in Italy, Europe and around the world. Valencia is great in this respect! The metro and buses are fully accessible to the disabled, elderly, mothers with strollers and they're very practical, easy to use and fast! An example to follow!

Sport, adventure and wellness: Given how pleasant and welcoming the gardens and parks are, the best way to take care of yourself is to have a relaxing afternoon strolling around them. There are also a lot of people who run around the parks and take advantage of the facilities there to train, these structures are also a lot of fun for the kids.

Eating and Drinking: I lived in Spain for 5 months and the food is great and after a while you can't do without garlic (they put it everywhere), you get very good sandwiches that are filled with whatever's available! The beer is very cheap, half a litre costs about 2 Euros! I highly recommend it!

Not to miss:  Valencia is one of the liveliest cities in Spain. Its beautiful beaches provide visitors with many opportunities for sun bathing, parasailing, diving and surfing. In addition to water sports, one can also indulge in activities such as golf, cycling and tennis.
The City of Arts and Science is designed by the famous architect Santiago Calatrava and features a Science Museum, a Planetarium, an IMAX cinema and an Aquarium.

One of the most popular areas to experience Valencia’s famed nightlife is the Barrio del Carmen. This area is filled with trendy bars ... More and restaurants as well as many old buildings dating back to the Roman times.
The Cathedral was built between the thirteenth and fifteenth centuries and is a major tourist attraction. La Lonja de la Seda has been designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and should definitely feature on your sightseeing itinerary.
In the month of March, Valencia celebrates the unique festival of Fallas.

General opinion:  The city of Valencia is the capital of the province of Valencia and is situated on the Costa del Azahar. It is the third largest city in Spain.
The city is located right next to the Mediterranean Sea, and there are many fine beaches in the heart of the city. Valencia has a Mediterranean climate, with warm dry summers and mild winters. Frequent rainfall occurs in spring and autumn. The weather is pleasant all year round with an average temperature of 15ºC.
The population of Valencia is approximately 800,000. The city was founded by the Romans in 137 BC ... More and was originally known as Edetania. Since, it has been ruled by many civilizations including the Visigoths, Moors and Aragonese. The culture and architecture of the city reflects its unique historical traditions.

Not to miss: It's an interesting city from a historical and architectural point-of-view, both the ancient and the new ultra-modern architecture is interesting, on the bed of the river which was diverted in the sixties. It's worth spending a long weekend there.
