The Valencia Cathedral is commonly known as “Seu” in Catalan and is the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Valencia. This church was consecrated in 1238 by the first bishop, Pere d ’ Albalat and was dedicated by order of James I the Conqueror to Saint Mary. The Cathedral was founded in the 13th century on the site of a mosque. It has a number of architectural styles and artistic treasures which includes the Holy Grail, the cup used by Christ during the last supper. The exterior of the place is mostly Gothic.
