Arild: Attractions and more...
With sandy beaches, medieval churches and green hills, Arild is a haven for nature lovers. Most of the monumental attractions are located in the adjacent city of Helsingborg. One of these is the Kärnan tower which has safeguarded the city for over 600 years. The Sofiero castle and rhododendron gardens are also a must-see.
St. Arild’s 18-hole golf course is the fourth best in Skåne, with its wide fairways, fast greens and clear waters. At a little distance from Arild, in an old Skåne farm, there is a cafe called ‘Flickorna på Skäret’ (The Girls on the Cliff), which was once upon a time frequented by King Gustaf VI Adolf.
There are several annual festivals in the city of Helsingborg. The Helsingborg Rock Festival in July sees both local and foreign participation and is acclaimed to be one of the biggest rock festivals in Europe. There is also the annual Garden Festival at Sofiero Castle, when the rhododendrons are in full bloom.
