Sweden has no major health risks and is very safe for travel. There are no specific vaccines required for entering Sweden. Doctors are easily available and most of the staff in the hospitals is English speaking. Tourists may opt for travel insurance.

Sweden is not prone to crimes, but cases of minor offences are increasing lately. Most of these crimes involve thefts. Hence, all valuables and personal property should be kept close. Luggage should never be left unattended especially in cars or hotel lobbies. Pick-pockets are more common in crowded areas in cities.

Visitors should be careful of purse-snatchers and pick-pockets, often working in pairs. One should me more cautious in places such as Stockholm’s Old Town, restaurants, museums, bars, buses and subway trains.
