Landskrona is known for the scenic beauty that its countryside offers and the rich cultural heritage of the town area. The fortifications around the town, known as the Landskrona Citadel, are a tourist attraction.
One can also make a boat/ferry trip to Hven Island in the Öresund. It is an ideal place for bicycling. On this island, there is also the subterranean observatory of Uranienborg built by Tycho Brahe in the latter half of the sixteenth century.
There are also several popular museums and castles in Skåne County. Sofiero Palace and its gardens with their huge collection of rhododendrons are located in the nearby town of Helsingborg. This place draws huge crowds in every season.
Every Easter in Skåne, the ‘art rounds’ are held, during which art galleries are opened to the public and workshops are conducted. There is also a carnival in Landskrona, the Landskronakarnevalen, which is held in July.
