Lunds Domkyrka, a Romanesque cathedral built in the eleventh century, is one of the most popular attractions. There is an astronomical clock here, at the striking of which, the figures of the three Biblical kings (who went in search of infant Jesus) emerge. There is also the Historiska Museet with its huge collection of ancient exhibits, including a 7,000-year-old skeleton.
The Kulturen Open Air Museum and the medieval museum of Drottens Kyrkoruin, built on the ruins of an eleventh century church, are impressive.
The nearby town of Dalby is famous for the thirteenth-century Dalby Heligkorskyrka—the oldest stone church in Scandinavia—and Dalby Söderskog National Park.
There is a carnival organised by the students at Lund University, Lundakarnevalen, held once in every four years since 1849. The annual Lund International Fantastic Film Festival is held in September. The town also has an exciting nightlife.
