Beware while shopping in the Gamla Stan or the old town. The place has highly priced items targeting unsuspecting tourists. The quality of the goods is also dubious.
Watch out for the moose sign while driving. These are fairly big animals and crashing in to them can result in damage to your wind shield.
In some parts of the country there are road signs warning about deer crossing. Although it is definitely beautiful to spot a deer, it can be dangerous.
You must drive with the headlights turned on twenty four hours a day. There is right hand drive in Sweden. In the case of an accident or breakdown, a mandatory warning triangle has to be placed on the road 50-100 meters behind the vehicle.
Avoid drinking if you are driving as there are frequent spot checks. Be aware that taxi drivers may charge visitors high rates for short rides. Although security is normally high, in cases of public events and functions visitors should take commonsense precautions when travelling in a foreign land.
