When you're looking for cheap eats on the go, Stockholm certainly has the usual suspects: pizza and kebabs — found mostly in Vasastaden — ubiquitous in Europe. But there is also a unique Swedish flair to the street food.
Stands selling korv, the Swedish take on a hot dog, dot the city, particularly in the tourist-heavy Old Town. The sausages typically come on a flat bread with a mustard sauce, but there is a great variety of toppings to choose from.
For some great fish with an even better view, Nystekt Stromming on Sodermalmstorg serves cheap fried herring just steps away from the Baltic. A little pricier — and not technically on the street — is Marcus Samuelsson's Street Food, which samples street fare from around the world.
