Stockholm-Arlanda Airport is an International airport situated near Stockholm in the Uppland Province. It is the biggest airport in Sweden and the 3rd largest in the Nordic countries.
The airport is run and operated by Luftfartsverket and handled passenger traffic of 17.91 millions in 2007.
The airport has 4 terminals, 3 runways and 64 gates. It is said to be world leading in clearing heavy snowfall from runways and has a policy of operating even during heavy snowshowers.
It has been listed as one of the emergency landing airports for the NASA space shuttle on account of its long runway.
