Packing List: Don't forget to pack any cold medicines, specifically decongestants, that you might need. You can't get them in Sweden or Denmark. I had a nasty cold while visiting, and could only get herbal remedies!! I wasn't able to enjoy a lot of my vacation due to that.

Surroundings and tours: its a very good place to visit if you love monuments and museums. If you like boats trips its a fun place to visit also. It's easy to move in the city wit a nice system of underground. You can find lots of beautiful buildings old and new to see. Go on summer or go on winter its a nice city to visit.

Packing List: I found good weather, but very low temperatures, so I would recommend light but warm clothing, scarf, gloves, hat and fur-lined boots. It's also good to get hot drinks to refresh yourself and come into the warmth.

Packing List: I went to Stockholm in August and it was very hot. Take light clothing, t-shirts and shorts during the day, warmer t-shirts for the evening. I recommend comfortable sandals because they will be enough and there is a lot to visit.

Surroundings and tours: The major monuments and museums offer guided tours at all hours of the day. It's a green city, with a great respect for the environment, and common areas are clean. Don't miss a boat trip on Mälaren Lake to admire Stockholm from another wonderful perspective. The people are friendly and the atmosphere in the city is really pleasant and welcoming.

Getting Around: I recommend taking the metro, it connects all the most important points of the city well. It's always open, 24 hours, and given the cost of transportation, I recommend the Stockolm Card. The boat tour is very pleasant and interesting. There are lots of companies. Canal Tour is free with the Stockholm Card. It lasts nearly 1 hour and it's very nice. It leaves from the pier in the centre.

The accommodation: The b&bs are excellent, clean and comfortable, even in the centre, no unpleasant surprises. You can make a beautiful visit to Ninasham and the adjacent Nataro island, a fishing village a few kilometres away from Stockholm. (Great lunch with fresh shrimp)

Nightlife and entertainment: If you're in Stockholm you can't not spend an evening at the Opera Café. It's located in the premises of the Operahuset, they dance beneath crystal chandeliers. It's frequented by the 'upper classes' of Stockholm. Outside you often see Limousines to end the evening in style.

Nightlife and entertainment: Stockholm is a wonderful city, very much alive, it's full of people who are always friendly and smiling. The public transport is flawless. There are many monuments and castles to visit. The surroundings are beautiful, but I absolutely recommend using a car to travel independently and fully appreciate its beauty.

Getting Around: Don't forget to go on a boat ride, not necessarily a citytour! In a few minutes you can get to the islands that are more awkward to get to by subway. Check with the transport agency. If you want to travel outside the city centre I recommend getting a 3-day ticket, it costs 250 SEK.

Surroundings and tours: Definitely go on a boat trip to see the other side of Stockholm, that of the water! Definitely make a stop at Skansen, a park that recreates Swedish traditions and local wildlife. The oldest city, or island is Gamla Stan with the Nobel Prize building and its charming alleyways. Have a good holiday.

Best Period to Go: Stockholm is beautiful in all seasons but spring is full of flowers and wonderful light! The sun rises early and sets late so you can fully enjoy the city in all its splendour. In winter, however, it's lit by Christmas lights and the atmosphere is magical! The choice is yours!

Best Period to Go: Their August is like our spring, so I recommend dressing in layers. There are lots of fashion events, festivals, music events, concerts. You can wander around without taking the subway. The temperatures are pleasant and the scenery is stunning, I recommend taking the ferry.

Sport, adventure and wellness: The old town of Stockholm is very characteristic, but, despite being crowded, it's always worth spending a day in the alleys. It's also interesting to visit the Vasa Museum (Vasamuseet), where the war vessel (Vasa), which sank in 1628 during its maiden voyage, is on display.

Eating and Drinking: I TRIED ALL THE LOCAL SPECIALITIES: REINDEER MEATBALLS, REINDEER STEW, PICKLED SALMON, FISH DUMPLINGS. THE FOOD IS OF EXCELLENT QUALITY. SOME GOOD VALUE RESTAURANTS ARE: PELIKAN, SLINGERBULTEN, KVARNEN, OSTGOTAKALLAREN. THE STAFF ARE REALLY NICE AND THEY'RE ALWAYS READY TO GIVE ADVICE ON WHAT TO ORDER.

Not to miss: It's beautiful to go in winter. The snow turns it into a dream landscape, the frozen river becomes an ice rink that you can use safely, without the summer crowd. There are loads of places to see, but the surrounding countryside is spectacular, too. The breakfast in the bakery cited by Stieg Larson in the old city alone is worth the trip!

Not to miss: Go to Skansen for children, a village in a city. Old traditions in the fairy tale village. The house of Pippi Longstocking, the dream of all children. Older children can lose themselves in the areas described in the Millennium trilogy. You'll find a beautiful Stockholm that's not advertised very much.

Not to miss:  The ancient town’s most traditional street is Fjällgatan, with its many restaurants, cafés and all kinds of shops. The entire island is crossed by many medieval streets.
The Stockholm Stadsmuseum (the Stockholm City Museum) is dedicated to town history. Kungliga Djurgården (Royal Djurgården) is an island covered by a forest, with many places to visit.
Along Djurgårdskanalen there is Skansen, an open-air museum devoted to historical Sweden (with a collections of historical structures from the different regions of the Country), and Vasamuseet (the ... More Vasa Museum), in which you can see the warship Vasa, which sank in Stockholm on her maiden voyage in 1628.
Thielska Galleriet (the Thielska Gallery) and Prince Eugene’s Waldermarsudde are two important art museums, where collections of contemporary Scandinavian paintings and sculpture are preserved.
The Nordiska museet (the Nordic Museum) is an important international museum for Scandinavian culture and history. Once a year, the Swedish Academy awards the Nobel Prize to people who have made major contributions in literature, medicine, chemistry, economics and peace.
The ceremony takes place on December 10 (the anniversary of Alfred Nobel’s death, founder of the Prize) in the Stockholm Concert Hall.
