Stockholm is nothing if not hip. Discover how it got that way at the Moderna Museet (Museum of Modern Art). This place is so hip it offers public tours in English during the summer.
Unfortunately, it's too hip to still be free (the museum started charging in 2007). Still, the 80-100 kroner admission fee (under 18 free) gives you access to works by such greats as Salavador Dali and Pablo Picasso (not as many as there used to be, though, as three Picassos are still missing after a daring 1993 heist).
In 2011, the museum is emphasizing photography by rehanging its collection of more than 100,000 photos for the three-part series "Another Story," focusing on three ages of the craft, from today to its beginnings.
